Investigator Dennis Ives
Instructor / Training Consultant
Cpl. Dennis
Ives served in the United States Marine Corps from 1987-1991.
During his time in the Marines he served as a combat engineer
and served in close proximity with the Explosive, Ordnance, and
Disposal Detachment. He served in Japan for over 1 year and then
was deployed into Thailand operating with the Thai Marines,
conducting land mine, IED, and explosive search and recovery and
provided training support operations to the Thai military. In
December 1990 he was deployed to
Saudi Arabia with the 1st
Marine Expeditionary Force, “Task Force Ripper,” as part of
Operation Desert Shield and in February 1991 took part in
Operation Desert Storm. During this time he was assigned Team
Leader of the personal security detail charged with the physical
security of the Commanding Officer of 2nd FSSG, until
returning to the US in June 1991. After receiving an
honorable discharged from the US Marines, he spent the next 5
years working as a patrol Sgt, for an armed housing authority
unit with operations in Newark, and New Brunswick,
NJ and in 2000 became a certified Fugitive Recovery Agent. On
9/11 Dennis responded into New York City and spent one month at
“Ground Zero” providing rescue and recovery operations with
Belleville Fire Department. In 2003 he became an active Arson
Investigator for his department. In 2005 he was deployed to
New Orleans
with the NJ State Police, during Hurricane Katrina. In his time
in New Orleans, he conducted recovery operations in close
conjunction with DMORT,
US&R, and
Blackwater Security. In 2006, he graduated from the Police
Training Commission’s Department of Criminal Justice Academy.
Dennis is currently assigned to the Arson Bureau with the
Belleville Fire Department, which is headed by the Essex County
Prosecutor’s Office. Dennis is a certified Firefighter/EMT-D,
and certified in hazmat decontamination, river rescue, terrorist
response operations, as well as Active Shooter Response, Close
Quarters Battle, Urban Rifle, and is a Tactical Firearms
Instructor. Dennis’ experiences have made him very well rounded
in the medical/security/ and law enforcement field. Dennis’
diverse skills are a valuable asset to TSC.
